At night there's a small menu of dinner specials. All that aside, quality of ingredients sets this little neighborhood eatery apart from many others. Creamy but not too gooey, chicken portobello soup floats big chunks of meaty mushrooms. A salad with baby greens and goat cheese also includes chunks of red wine-poached pears, pecans and a lavender-honey vinaigrette. The fresh interior brings to mind the woodsy rusticity of a La Madeleine. Similarly, order at the counter and wait for to-go orders or table service. Desserts change frequently. Blueberry cream cake was a seasonal hit o­n a recent midday. Warm chocolate praline cake looked and tasted oily. In general, however, assorted breads and desserts entice and satisfy.
